한국미생물·생명공학회 호남·제주지부 학술대회가 2021년 8월 19일(목)~8월 20일(금), 여수 디오션리조트에서 성황리에 개최되었다. 이번 지부 학술대회는 최근 심해진 코로나로 인하여 온오프라인이 동시에 열리는 하이브리드 형태로 개최되었으며, 철저한 방역 지침 수행으로 여수시 등 주변 기관으로부터 호평을 받았습니다.

장인섭 한국미생물·생명공학회 호남·제주지부장의 개회사 및 현 한국미생물·생명공학회장 김건수 교수의 축사로 학술대회의 시작을 알렸다.

서강대학교 이정국 교수(Use of chromatophore membrane vesicles from photosynthetic bacteria for the generation of chemical energy in vitro from light)의 기조강연을 시작으로 한국원자력연구원 김민규 박사(Structural and functional analyses of TCS components in Deinococcus radiodurans), 전북대학교 서동호 교수(Biosynthesis of valuable products by transglycosidase using sucrose), 한국생명공학연구원 신나리 박사(Beyond the sequence: necessity for material resource from gut microbiome), 전북대학교 장정환 교수(Denitrifiers in woodchip bioreactors under cold temperature condition)의 강연이 있었다.

Keynote 강연으로는 고려대학교 김희남 교수(Gut microbiome: the origin of chronic conditions and COVID-19 severity), 포항공과대학교 이정욱 교수(Cell-free Systems for RNA Detection and Promoter Prototyping), 성균관대학교 권대혁 교수(Nanodisc-based antivirals perforating viral envelopes), 가톨릭대학교 주정찬 교수(Biological production of C5 platform chemicals and their applications)의 강연이 있었다.

본 학술대회는 한국미생물·생명공학회 호남·제주지부가 주관하고 한국미생물·생명공학회가 주최, 여수시와 전라남도, 광주과학기술원 ECOSysChem 선도연구센터의 후원으로 진행되었다.
